Ladies, with cameras can we do something?

I’m following a lot of young ladies (like myself) who either went to film school or are in film school (or are film major’s at schools that do lots of stuff) and I keep wondering is it as cold out here for them as it is for me? Granted I have a crappy camera, and went to a school that did almost nothing to help me get further than their door step, but I spent a long time going it on my own and didn’t have a lot of luck either. So I’m wondering is it all who you know?

Anyway, moving on from my own point… I think there are enough of us female filmmakers (and writers, and techie types) on here to do something… I think we should, we should write scripts for each other and have someone else film it, we should try to meet up and do weekend shoots with each other, or whatever we can think of.

We should create a free network of (female) filmmakers, because it’s expensive and complicated to try and join various club houses for film makers. And not that those established organizations aren’t super helpful, I just, I don’t know how young people who are without established help or fine pedigrees are supposed to stand out in places like that. So I with an unremarkable pedigree, and mild skill suggest we create a tumblr based network of unknown filmmakers.
